Hazardous material storage cabinets

An extensive range of cabinets constructed from 0.9mm thick steel, with reinforced doors designed to maintain their integrity during the early minutes of exposure to fire.

• To keep hazardous contents secure the cabinets are built with a 3-point locking system, supplied with 2 keys.
• Each cabinet is supplied with perforated height adjustable shelves that allows leaks to drain into a liquid tight sump tray.
• All cabinets feature an 80mm deep sump tray to contain spillages
• The cabinets are fully sealed at the bottom with point welding to prevent leakage at ground level.

Our cabinets are manufactured to Health & Safety Executive Guide HSG51 and DSEAR 2002

What does this mean for you?

The DSEAR 2002 regulations recognise that some chemicals and other dangerous substances are required in the workplace, keeping those substances at safe levels and storing them in a secure environment is key.

Storage Guidelines

Our cabinets are designed to contain spills 110% of the volume of the largest container normally stored inside. Our largest cabinet’s sump tray will hold 25 litres so the biggest container normally stored in it needs to be 22.5 litres or less.

The recommendation is that the maximum total quantity stored is no more than 50 litres for extremely flammable liquids with a flashpoint below the maximum ambient temperature of the workroom/working area; and no more than 250 litres for other flammable liquids with a higher flashpoint of up to 55°C.
