Electric stackers are the ideal solution for lifting, lowering and moving pallets and materials within a warehouse, factory, or other industrial settings. They are powered by electricity, which offers several benefits over traditional hydraulic or manual pallet stackers, including increased efficiency with the addition of electric drive, zero harmful emissions and improved productivity and safety. They’re also easy to operate and extremely low maintenance.

What is an electric stacker?

An electric stacker is a type of material handling equipment that is used to lift and move materials, such as boxes or pallets, in a warehouse or other storage facility. Similar to forklift trucks, however stackers are smaller in size and typically have a narrower aisle width, ideal for manoeuvring around confined spaces. Electric stackers are powered by batteries, which allows them to be used in indoor environments where the use of internal combustion engines is not allowed. They are typically used to lift and move materials from one location to another within a facility, or to stack materials on shelves or in storage areas. Electric stackers are often used in conjunction with pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment to help improve efficiency and productivity in warehouses and other storage facilities.

What are the benefits of an electric stacker truck?

  • Increased productivity: Electric stackers are faster and more efficient than manual stackers, which can help to increase productivity and reduce labour costs.
  • Improved safety: They are equipped with safety features such as load sensors and automatic shut-off mechanisms, which can help to prevent accidents and injuries on the job, such as operator strain.
  • Ergonomic design: Stackers are easy to operate, even for people with little or no experience. They typically have simple controls and are easy to manoeuvre.
  • Low maintenance: Electric pallet stackers require minimal maintenance and are less prone to mechanical problems than other types of stackers.
  • Zero harmful emissions: Stackers are a more environmentally friendly choice than petrol-powered or diesel-powered stackers.

How to use an electric pallet stacker

All our electric stackers come with a user guide which should be read in full before use. A summary of general instructions are included below:

  1. Make sure the stacker is fully charged and ready to use.
  2. Put on any necessary personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat and gloves.
  3. Position the stacker in front of the pallet or goods you want to lift.
  4. Extend the forks under the pallet, making sure they are evenly positioned and aligned with the pallet or good's load-bearing points.
  5. Use the controls to lift the pallet or goods off the ground, being careful to keep the load balanced and centred on the forks.
  6. Use the controls to move the stacker to the desired location.
  7. When you reach the destination, use the controls to lower the pallet or goods onto the ground or onto another surface.

Do you need a licence to use an electric stacker?

You do not need a licence to use an electric stacker, however whilst an electric pallet stacker is simple to operate, all users should receive adequate safety training before usage, as per Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98).

How high can an electric pallet stacker lift?

Our stackers offer a range of maximum lift heights. To find the right pallet stacker for you, use the Lift Height toggle included in the Filter section.

What is an electric stacker’s maximum handling limit?

Load capacities differ from model to model, however as a general rule, a safe maximum handling limit for an electric pallet stacker is approximately 1200kg, which is the maximum weight capacity that the majority of our stackers can lift. We would not recommend exceeding this limit.
