Now the winter months are fast approaching, many people will be thinking about the best way to provide additional heating. But there are many types of heaters and it can be hard to figure out which one will work best for you. We thought we would provide you with a little guide to how some popular heaters work to help you figure out which one is more suitable to your needs.

  1. Convection Heaters – this works using a heating element which gets hot and heats up the air around it. Once the air is heated, the air increases in volume and rises into the room, whilst cool air moves through the bottom of the heater and this process heats the room. Unlike gas heaters you don’t have to worry about ventilation.
  2. Oil Filled Heaters – these heaters work using convention, but instead of a heating element oil is used to heat up the air. They are silent and the oil does not have to be replaced.
  3. Fan Heaters – there is an electrical fan inside these heaters which sucks in cold air. The fan blows the air through a heating element and this heats the room. These fans are affordable to run and very safe to use.
  4. Halogen Heaters – these heaters use light, and heats everything the light rays land on rather than just heating the air around it. They heat an area quickly and are easily portable.

Each heater has its advantages, and we hope this guide is helpful to you when picking which one will benefit you and your environment the most.
